- You need to be actively building your muscles whether you’re a man or woman.
- Plus, to lose weight you MUST be eating in a caloric deficit.
What is a caloric deficit? It’s simple. By your height and current weight and how many calories you can burn per day you can easily figure up how many calories you can eat. Use this chart here.
Then you simply want to come in below your required calories for the day so you’ll end up burning more calories than you take in. In return your body starts to shed the fat.
Two more quick things to keep in mind.
- You want to avoid losing more than 2 lbs per week.
- You want to still eat moderately healthy but still enjoy your favorite things, like dessert.
It’s a lie when someone says to you that you can eat all the healthy food you want and you’ll lose weight!
Why? Because healthy things have calories too. If to be at a caloric deficit you could eat 1800 calories and you ate 3000 calories of chocolate or 3000 calories of fish, it wouldn’t matter for fat loss because either one is going to make you gain weight because you went over your calories.
Now, obviously 3000 calories of chocolate might cause other issues as well but we’re discussing actual fat loss here.
If you are trying to go for rapid fat loss but you totally get rid of everything you enjoy and only eat clean, you’re going to go nuts eventually.
