Body Beast Review – How Well Does This Workout Program Work?

body beast workout programMy Body Beast review is my honest look at a program that I’ve personally used and involves my experiences.  First, let’s take a look at what Body Beast is designed for.  I will also include all of the cons I found with this program. By the way if you haven’t seen anything on Body Beast yet be sure to read their sales page along with this review.

The idea behind Body Beast is to mainly build a more muscular body but weight loss goals can be accomplished as well.  But, keep in mind the main purpose is muscle growth.

Body Beast workout schedule

In Body Beast, there are two options when it comes to the workout schedule. The schedules have been based on the kind of goals people have set for themselves.

Schedule #1: Huge Beast

Focused on mass, this schedule will purely cater to people who want to train their abs and complete body, without actually worrying too much about a little body fat. During the whole program, there is just one day of cardio, while the rest of the days are completely dedicated to mass training and building exercises.

This is perfect for people who are already lean but looking to bulk up.

Schedule #2: The Lean Beast

People who want to lose fat as well as build mass will find that schedule #2 suits them perfectly. Unfortunately, not everyone has a body % of  less than 10%. However, if you are looking to tackle your fatty zones only, it’s imperative to focus on Lean Beast over the Huge Beast Program, since you won’t derive the proper benefits out of the program.

Of course, both the programs come with their own nutrition intake requirements as well, so you might want to check those out, before plunging head on into any of the programs.

Lean Beast is perfect for those with excess body fat to lose and are looking to slim down while building muscle.

Here is a quick look into the modules:

Body Beast model:

  • Block 1: Build Series
  • Block 2: Bulk Series
  • Block 3: Beast Series

Each of these modules is further sub divided into different exercises, depending upon what you need to concentrate on to bulk up. Accordingly, you can decide what exercises you can perform, basis your health conditions.

The Body Beast workout modules have varying timelines for each exercise. The time slots are split according to the block, so you might want to check out the different blocks, before getting to the exercise. Let’s answer the question “how long are body beast workouts?” in a simplified manner, for all those people who are still relatively new to the idea of Body Beast.

Body Beast lets you enhance your body’s muscle mass, in a limited period of time. However, if you really want to achieve the desired results, you have to follow everything to the tee and see miracles unfurl.

Soreness

If you’re new to working out or have been away from working out for awhile you will experience soreness with the program.  This is good because it means the muscles are growing!  You want to be somewhat sore the next day after every workout.

Always keep in mind that if you’re never sore you’re not building enough muscle.

Here is a look at the phases I wanted to mention in this Body Beast review.  You can take a closer look at the explanations here:

Build Phase

  • Legs: 38 min
  • Back/Bis: 50 min
  • Chest/Tris: 48 min
  • Shoulders: 38 min

Bulk Phase

  • Legs: 41 min
  • Shoulders: 35 min
  • Chest: 30 min
  • Arms: 35 min
  • Back: 29 min

Workouts

  • Abs: 10 min
  • Cardio: 38 min
  • Total body: 38 min

The whole program is geared towards allowing you to achieve your desired body within a span of 90 days. The only thing required is the commitment to make a difference, when it comes to achieving your perfect body.

In order to perform the exercises and keep up with the schedule of the training program, you have to work out 6 days a week, for a period of 90 days (which I am not a big fan of, more on this in a moment).

The workout schedule is evenly spread out throughout the whole exercise routine. This is further accompanied with cardiovascular exercises, which help you tone up your body and gain body mass.

Follow the nutritional guide which comes with the training program. The nutritional guide is the perfect accomplice for making your body a living legend. Use this guide to enhance your body’s muscles and rid yourself of the body fat. The meals, prescribed in the guide, are high with calories, so that your body gets the required intake of nutrition during the work out stage.

The types of workout will vary, depending on the kind of body you have. Since the phases are divided, you can definitely expect good results if you follow the regime rigorously

Body Beast Equipment Needed To Perform

Body beast training program is really raking up some interest in the minds of the people who are advent followers of the program. Body Beast is all about replacing your cardio programs with mass training workout regimes, so that you get to buff up on the body mass with exercises. However, the question many people ask is, what Body Beast equipment needed to make the training successful?

dumbells work great for body beastDumbbells: It’s best to have some different weight variations in your dumbbells, so that you can move to different weights once you’re used to the lower versions. The best option would be to buy adjustable dumbbells since there will be a lot of variation between the weight sizes. One exercise might require you to lift 25 lbs while the other one might take you straight away to 50 or 70 lbs depending on your strength levels. Adjustable weights really help in these circumstances, since there is hardly any gap between exercises.

Bench: If possible, you can purchase a bench for some of the exercises. If you don’t want to make weight benchso much investment, you can even buy a blow up exercising gym ball, which would also serve your exercising purpose. Of course, at the end of the day, you will find that a bench is more convenient to use and work out on. In the beginning, just to warm up and get into the flow of the beast mode, you can use a gym ball.

pull up barPull up bar: Last but not the least, a pull up bar would be required to enhance your triceps and other body parts. The idea behind the whole work out is to help you build up body mass and replace all those fat areas with rock hard muscles.

This one will work for most doors.

Does Body Beast Work?

Yes, Body Beast works.  It’s a pretty good program for the most part.

During my Body Beast review I can definitely say I built muscle and added shredded off some fat.

There are two very important things to keep in mind.

  • You must eat correctly. Eating incorrectly will limit gains and will keep you from being lean.
  • You must utilize the program. No matter if you pick Lean Beast or Huge Beast you’ll need to follow the program properly to see gains.

In Body Beast you will do a lot of reps of each exercise and you’ll be varying the weights.

Cons With During My Body Beast Review

Let me cover some things I do not like about Body Beast.

  • High Rep Volume
  • 6 Day Per Week Workouts Frequency
  • 6 Meals Per Day!

I am not a big fan of high rep, lower weight workouts.  The problem for men and women is when we do lower weight, high reps it doesn’t build the muscle as densely we need.

Building more dense muscle will lead to looking better, feeling better and being in better shape than someone who is continually doing high rep, low weight.

Let me cover my thoughts on frequency and some problems I had to overcome from this.

High reps over a period of time can lead to Over-Training.  Over training leads to fatigue and injury.  Near the end of my workout schedule I began to experience extreme discomfort in my left elbow area.  This was caused by simply over-training the region.

This actually hindered my workout and forced me to miss over 10 days of training to allow time to heal.  Upon starting Body Beast back up I experienced the soreness again from the rep volume.

I learned during that period of time that high reps can often lead to over-training which again leads to injury.

I then switched my program over to a Higher weight, lower volume workout using Warrior Shredded and it’s helped alleviate over-training.  Plus, I have more time and energy to spend with my family and I don’t feel like I am spending my life focusing on my body, but living and incorporating fitness as an extension of my life instead.

The common myth for men and especially women is by lifting heavier weight you’ll get puffy and blocky looking.  This is far from the truth.

The truth is, heavier weights and low reps = building dense muscle.  So even if you weigh more you look a million times better and you look in better shape (mainly because you are!). And ladies trust me if you add some muscle your body will look hotter than ever.

I recommend you use a program like Visual Impact For Men or Visual Impact For WomenWarrior Shredded or Greek God Program for men and for women try Goddess Toning.

These programs work amazingly because you’ll learn how to workout out less (3 days a week), you’ll eat correctly and help stave fat from coming back on your body.  You’ll also learn to eat more enjoyable food as you’ll eat 2 big meals per day rather than the 6 recommended by Body Beast.  This leads me to my last con with Body Beast…

6 Meals Per Day

I personally HATED this aspect during this Body Beast review.  Eating 6 meals per day made it feel like I was on a diet that I couldn’t keep up with.  If my family and I would go out to dinner I always had to hold myself to under 500 calories otherwise I’d be over eating.

This was miserable.

I never felt like I ate meals I liked this way.  They always felt boring or didn’t contain enough fat.

Now I follow Visual Impact and eat two awesome meals everyday and I feel more fit, trim and powerful than ever.  In between meals if I get hungry I simply grab a piece of fruit and I am satisfied!

I’ll post a full review over it soon but for now just go snag the program, it’s worth it and cheaply priced.

Conclusion To The Body Beast Review

Training according to the beast mode is certainly not easy. You have to be prepared to expect the unexpected and give it all you got, so that there is just no way but to give it your 100 percent.

Overall, I do like the program but the high rep, too frequent workouts and the 6 small meals per day sucked.  This is why in the future I will most likely NOT be doing the program again and will stick to a more practical approach with Warrior Shredded and Greek God Program and for the ladies again I recommend Goddess Toning for getting into shape and carving out the body you want.
